We've all seen the news, listened to the stories and likely know some people who unfortunately are unable to put food on their tables for their families.

Not only has the Trump Administration stopped SNAP benefits and canceled food assistance deliveries, even after a judge told them to reinstitute and fund these programs - they went to the Supreme Court with the specific intent of stopping these vital food programs. For the first time in our lives, the American President is actively trying to starve American families.

While we wait for Congress and the courts to settle this, our communities are hurting. 4000 people in Eden Prairie and Minnetonka rely on federal food assistance programs like SNAP. Even more rely on food shelves to make it through the week for their families.

I cannot stand by and let our neighbors suffer. Inflation keeps rising, wages are stagnant, health insurance is about to double or triple in cost and more and more people cannot feed their families.

The next time you are making a grocery run, please consider picking up a few extra items and dropping them off at a location closest to you. We'll deliver everything we've collected this coming Monday, the 17th, as a big showing that democrats care. We will not wait until the next election to make a difference. Our neighbors and communities need us now.
